Detail: '35 Below' 2011
Background
Following a professional education and background in the fields of interiors, architecture and exhibition design I became a lecturer in
three dimensional design before I moved to Hong Kong in 1991. During my eight years in Hong Kong I was introduced to the absorbing art of patchwork and quilting.
After my return to the UK, I had the opportunity to take up my new found ‘hobby’ and became an active member of several quilt groups in England.
I am currently a member of the Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles and the Contemporary Quilt Group.
In 2006 I completed City & Guilds Patchwork and Quilting (Part 1) then returned to teaching quilting part-time.
I currently live in downtown Toronto with my husband and four cats.
I focus on continuing to develop my creativity in working with fabric and mixed media; meeting the challenge of
various exhibitions and designing and creating contemporary quilts.
I try to share my passion when and where possible and I am a member of York Heritage Quilters’ Guild, a volunteer at
the Textile Museum of Canada and also a founder member of Contemporary QuiltArt; a new group group for art quilters in Toronto.
